About the role

  • Serve as a highly trusted people partner and subject matter expert in all areas of HR, including: strategic planning, talent acquisition and onboarding, recruiting, employee engagement, performance management, employment laws and legal compliance, compensation planning, benefits planning and administration, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and more.
  • Provide support, counsel, and direction to management and employees on employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Identify process and compliance gaps in HR practices, and build action plans to address the development of HR policies and best practices that maintain Nowsta as a best-in-class employer
  • Own recruiting and onboarding processes, including implementing software and tools that enable organizational efficiency. Ability to build out and lead this team within the broader org.
  • Own annual benefits planning and administration across the organization
  • Own and execute the company’s bi-annual performance review process
  • Drive an exceptional employee experience by fostering a culture of inclusion where all employees feel involved, valued, and respected
  • Oversee a dedicated Culture & Events budget. Implement checklists, plans and organizational tools for fiscally responsible, engaging, and scalable internal events & programming
  • Manage working relationships with outside personnel, including legal counsel, HRIS partners, and more
  • Manage various projects as needed that support the talent at Nowsta

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in a people operations / HR role or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
  • Successful completion of an HR certification program
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Human Resources practices, employment legislation, and HRIS systems; knowledge of Justworks and Greenhouse is a plus
  • Experience working in a startup environment preferred
  • Proven leader for Diversity and Inclusion
  • Growth-minded self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven conflict resolution and diplomacy skills across a variety of professional verticals
